Quietly does it
Captain’s Prize to the Seniors
On Thursday, 16th September last, the Club Captain, Mr John Coffey, greeted the Seniors with a warm welcome providing tasty scones (courtesy of Barbara), tea and coffee on arrival before play and a complimentary drink at the clubhouse at close of play. Congratulations to one of our newest and, indeed, quietest members, Seamus Sheeran, who won the prize with a score of 42 points. The Category One winner was the not particularly quiet, Gerry Emmett, with 38 points. Seamus Sweeney took Cat. 2 with 39 points and Owen Caulfield won Cat. 3 with 40 points. Front 9 winner was Sean Gilmartin (22 points) and Back 9 winner was Joe Keville (22 points). The Seniors’ Captain, Albert Hogg announced the winners and John Coffey then presented the prize to the winner, Seamus Sheeran who made a gracious acceptance speech.
