Captain’s Prize goes to Monaghan
There was a fine entry of over 40 golfers for Albert Hogg’s Captain’s Day last Thursday, 19th August. Dermot Monaghan won with a fine score of 43 points. Runner up was Paschal McGuire, also with a great score of 43 points, pipped on a countback. Chris Lowe was third with 42 points. Cat. 1 – Reggie Carroll (38 points); Cat. 2 – Michael Comerton (38 points); Cat. 3 – Tom Owens (37 points). Robbie Donaldson took the prize for the front nine and Seamus Sheeran took the prize for the back nine. Nearest the pin on the 8th hole was Paschal McGuire and on the 13th hole was Reggie Carroll. After the golf, Charlie Ward provided a fine meal for all, followed by the presentation of the prizes and the speeches. Congratulations to Albert on an excellent day’s golf, prizes and meal and to Dermot Monaghan on his wonderful win and brief acceptance speech.
