The final golf competition of the year concluded with a 9 hole competition, silent shotgun start, at 11.30 a.m. on Thursday, 17th December. The weather was kind in the morning and most of the competitors had finished their rounds before the rain came in. The scoring was good and Gerry Emmett took first place, on a countback, with 22 points. Eric Lynam was second and Sean Duignan was third with 21 points. Charlie and staff provided an excellent Christmas lunch under the strictest health conditions and restrictions following on which our esteemed Captain, Albert Hogg, delivered a wonderful end-of-year speech announcing the winners of the various categories during the year. A draw for the non-prizewinners, organised by Michael Comerton concluded the event with most people getting prizes when their tickets were drawn. That’s it and no more golf until the AGM in the first week of February next.
