Thursday, 3rd October
A small turnout with people put off by all the different coloured alerts from the Met Office about Storm Lorenzo. Eventually 13 golfers gathered together and it was decided to have an 18 hole competition over the old nine. Foolish really because the weather closed in and the rain started pelting down, so our esteemed Captain, Robbie Donaldson made an executive decision and curtailed the competition to 9 holes only. With that decision made, PJ Sharkey took first prize on a countback from Robbie with 18 points. Albert Hogg took third on another countback from Martin Hernon with 17 points. ‘Shouldov’ Sweeney was in hard luck having amassed 15 points from the first six holes but fell out of the reckoning over the last three holes. A reminder from our Captain that the Josie Murray Memorial will now take place on Thursday next 10th October.
