Thursday, 30th May
Thursday 30th May and dawn light crept slowly over the land. Senior members looked out their windows to see a wet, windy and miserable day. Surprisingly a large number of the more committed golfers (and some said they should have been committed) turned up for the regular weekly competition despite the conditions. Congratulations then to Brendan Lynch who won first prize (on a countback) with a creditable score of 35 points in the conditions. Also on 35 points and in second place was Leo Kavanagh with Michael Duignan in third place with 34 points. The nines were won by PJ Sharkey (20) and Kieran Greene (17). Our next away outing is to Ballinrobe on Monday 10th June at 11.00 a.m. and buggies are available. The overnight trip this year is to Moate and Glasson on the 8th and 9th July; €135 euro for two day’s golf and dinner, bed and breakfast at Glasson Golf Hotel. If you want to reserve a place please pay €50 deposit as soon as possible.
