Tom Daly R.I.P.
Tom Daly has left us, suddenly and sadly and he will be greatly missed. Tom was great company both on the course and in the bar at the 19th. Tom was a great raconteur and he had a fund of stories to share and witticisms to sprinkle over the conversation. You could depend on Tom to have all the news of the town with him when he ambled into the clubhouse in that laid-
back manner of his on a Thursday morning. His final appearance in the Seniors was a winning one. Tom was in the last four-ball of the day with Robbie Donaldson, Johnny Martin and Paddy Duffy and many stories were shared during the course of the round. Tom was scoring reasonably well but when he came to the sixteenth he hit two glorious shots to about 15 feet
from the flag and he sank the putt for a birdie. To top it off he chipped in from the scraggly rough on the edge of the left hand side of the seventeenth for a second successive birdie. His play of those two holes Were undoubtedly wonderful memories to sustain him before he unexpectedly left us. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.
