No Major “Casualties” in Lynch Cup Qualifier
The Lynch Cup Qualifier played on Sun 8 May saw all the “big guns” make it through to the match play. Top qualifier was Keith Hogg with 44 to take the number one seed, Denis Flynn with 40 was second & Stephen Sheeran with 39 was third. The draw for the match play threw up some interesting matches. Last years winner Albert Hogg starts his defence with a tough match against last years Captain’s Prize winner Colm Griffin. Gents Secretary Gordon Kavanagh plays Club President John Moffatt, Keith Hogg takes on fellow St Michael’s man Kieran Oates in a flat match. A possible Jimmy Bruen pairing sees Joey Casey play Tommy Mulvey. in a battle for the bragging rights in the family anyway Pat Conlisk plays Seamus Sweeney. Competition Secretary John Coffey plays Paul O’Brien in the return of a Cecil Ewing encounter. First round matches to be played by June 12, if not a coin toss will decide.
